Pentyrch - Limestone UFH Floor  - 86sqm

A beautifully crafted limestone floor, installed with care and precision across multiple living spaces.

For this project, we were tasked with transforming a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space, as well as a utility and boot room, with a timeless 86sqm limestone floor.

The subfloor was a newly poured screed, which required sanding back the laitance — a crucial step to ensure a strong bond between the adhesive and tile. Without this preparation, the installation could have been compromised over time. With piped underfloor heating running through the entire space, we also installed an anti-fracture matting system to manage natural expansion and contraction, following best practice set out in the British Standards for wall and floor tiling (BS 5385).

Working with limestone presents unique challenges. Being a softer natural stone, it requires careful handling and precise cutting to avoid chipping. Extra care was taken throughout, and each tile was sealed twice before grouting, then sealed again after, providing essential protection and enhancing the natural character of the stone.
The result is a seamless, elegant floor that ties together multiple rooms, bringing warmth, sophistication, and durability to the entire home. The homeowners were delighted with the transformation, noting how the limestone finish elevated the space while remaining practical for day-to-day living.
